It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Town of Wilsonville’s web site.  I hope that this site provides you a vehicle to help you know just exactly why our citizens love the Town of Wilsonville so much.  

The web site will provide you with some useful information about the town. You will discover how diverse, rich in history, family and community orientated our town remains in these times of change.

The Town of Wilsonville is located just 35 miles south of Birmingham and 15 minutes from Highway 280 which makes it easy to locate.  Wilsonville was incorporated in 1879.  In the earlier times, the railroad was of great importance; Wilsonville bustled with people and trade.  It is now home to more than 1500 residents with retail businesses and a couple of small manufacturers added in.  Wilsonville exhibits a true “hometown” feel with a mixture of young growing families, established families, and retirees.   

Wilsonville is known for having a friendly southern hospitality, close family ties, active organizations, and religious background.  We have a wonderful area for sports and other forms of recreation all year round.  Grab your pole and enjoy fishing and easy living along the banks of the Coosa River.  Wilsonville is definitely a “Great place to call Home”.  

I commend our citizens, for the work and dedication shown to help accomplish our goals of keeping Wilsonville a wonderful community.  The many volunteers on our Boards and Committees show that commitment. Our dedicated elected and appointed officials and employees daily demonstrate a determination to serve our residents.
